Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu celebrated the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in Parliament, granting legal backing to Amaravati as the state capital.

Naidu joined farmers of Amaravati region, accompanied by his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari, senior ministers, and BJP leaders, to mark the occasion.

The couple offered special prayers at the site where Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in 2015.

Naidu described the passage of the bill as a 'historic and defining moment' for democracy and public will.

The chief minister thanked the Union government and political parties across the country for supporting the bill, except for the YSR Congress Party.

Naidu reaffirmed his government's commitment to develop Amaravati as an 'unstoppable and world-class capital,' promising to adopt the best global development models.
