Union Home Minister Amit Shah has issued a stern warning to 'goons' linked to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party ahead of the second phase of voting in West Bengal, scheduled for April 29.

The first phase of polling saw a record 92.35% voter turnout, with clashes reported in parts of Bengal, including Murshidabad, Birbhum, Cooch Behar, and Dakshin Dinajpur.

Amit Shah, in a post on X, warned the 'goons' not to come out in the second phase, saying 'I'll hang you upside down and straighten you out' if they do.

He congratulated the voters of the state for casting 'historic votes' and 'shattering all records of participation in the grand festival of democracy.'

The Election Commission and brave personnel of all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), along with the West Bengal police, were also congratulated by Shah.
