Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has launched a 100-day action plan for water conservation, aiming to make the state drought-free by improving groundwater levels and enhancing storage capacity.

The four-phase plan includes identifying works, administrative approvals, execution, and submission of completion reports, with a focus on filling all tanks and enhancing storage capacity.

With 5,697 villages identified as groundwater-stressed areas, the government aims to improve groundwater levels by at least 1.5 meters, ensuring availability within six meters before summer and three meters after the monsoon.

Naidu highlighted the success of micro-irrigation, with Andhra Pradesh topping the country in its implementation, and emphasized the need for scientific planning and integrated water management.

The chief minister urged farmers, irrigation associations, gram panchayats, and citizens to participate actively in the Jaladhara movement, calling water security a collective responsibility.
