The conviction rate also improved, with 28.5% of cases resulting in convictions in 2025, compared to 4% in 2021. In addition to the decline in road fatalities, the city saw a decrease in cases related to property crimes, vehicle theft, and mobile theft. The police also made significant progress in combating drug-related crimes, registering 406 cases and arresting 555 individuals. The seized contraband items had a market value of ₹28.86 crore. With these achievements, the Assam government is committed to making the state's roads safer and reducing crime rates."
