Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has warned Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera of action over allegations against his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma. Sarma claims that Assam Police can track down Khera to ask him who provided him with documents used for the allegations, which he says are false.
Sarma also hit out at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for backing the claims without verification, calling him 'like a madman'. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi gave the documents to Khera and warned the Congress against trying to scare him.
Kharge responded by saying that all agencies are under the central government, which should probe the charges, while Jairam Ramesh termed Assam CM as 'disturbed, desperate, and rattled'.
