A man was taken into custody at the Assam CM's swearing-in ceremony after live bullets were found on him during security screening.

The incident occurred minutes before Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya was set to administer the oath to Himanta Biswa Sharma, who took office for the second consecutive term.

Several dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, were present at the ceremony.

Over 40 NDA CMs and Deputy CMs attended the event, which comes after the NDA won a record 102 seats in the 126-member assembly.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the recovery and whether any security threat was involved.
