Ballari Violence: BJP MLA Booked, SP Suspended Amid Murder Probe

A violent confrontation in Ballari, India, has left one person dead and multiple FIRs registered against several individuals, including BJP MLA Janardhana Reddy. The clashes erupted over banner installations for a Valmiki statue unveiling program and quickly escalated into stone pelting and violence. According to police, Rajashekhar, a 26-year-old man, was fatally shot during the confrontation. Police have seized five guns from individuals and clarified that they only used tear gas to control the crowd. An investigation is underway to determine who fired the shot that killed Rajashekhar. The home minister has ordered an inquiry into the incident, and the Ballari superintendent of police has been suspended. In addition to Reddy, former minister Sriramulu and two others have been booked for their alleged involvement in the violence. The situation in Ballari has been deemed under control, with additional forces deployed to maintain security. The home minister has assured that a thorough report will be shared once it is complete.
