Three men, identified as doctors, were arrested in Bengaluru after a viral video showed them consuming alcohol while riding a two-wheeler on a busy road.
The incident took place in BTM Layout on Sunday evening, with the bike weaving between vehicles and putting riders and others on the road at risk.
One of the pillion riders was seen calmly drinking from a beer bottle mid-ride, sparking public outrage and calls for the stunt to be considered irresponsible and dangerous.
The Bengaluru City Police identified and arrested the individuals, who were later released on bail as the offences fell under bailable categories.
In a separate update, Bengaluru Traffic Police highlighted the scale of traffic violations in the city, registering 634 cases of drunken driving and collecting ₹1.29 lakh in fines for speeding violations between March 16 and 22.
