A professor at a Bengaluru medical college has been booked for sexual harassment after proposing to a female student in class.
The incident occurred on March 23 and came to light after videos of the proposal surfaced online.
The student denied any prior romantic interest, prompting a confrontation that escalated into an assault.
A case has been registered against the professor under sections 74, 75, and 329 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The college principal filed a complaint, stating the professor had been behaving inappropriately and harassing students, despite being barred from campus.
