Ministers from Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and BJP have demanded strict action against the perpetrators of a 10-year-old girl's sexual assault and murder in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister described the incident as 'horrific' and 'unforgivable', while BJP leaders met the family and assured them of swift action and maximum punishment.

Five special teams have been set up to investigate the case, and police have arrested the prime accused and his accomplice.

Opposition leaders have also condemned the crime and demanded tough action, with some calling for a financial assistance of ₹1 crore to the victim's family.
