The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its list of candidates for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, fielding candidates in all 28 seats. The move comes after its ally, the Tripra Motha Party (TPC), announced it would contest the polls alone.

The BJP has welcomed five TPC rebels, including a district council member, who accused their previous party of corruption. The TPC, which secured a majority in the TTAADC elections in 2021, hopes to repeat its performance.

Elections to the TTAADC, which covers nearly two-thirds of Tripura's geographical area, are scheduled for April 12. The counting will take place on April 17.
