K Annamalai, who recently left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), cited differing views on Tamil Nadu as the reason for his departure.
In a resignation letter to BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Annamalai expressed gratitude for the opportunities he received during his six-year tenure with the party.
He stated that he aimed to bring positive change to Tamil Nadu and make politics more inclusive for the common man.
However, Annamalai noted that his views on the state's politics no longer aligned with the party's leadership, leading him to step down and reassess his purpose in politics.
As a nationalist with deep roots in regional aspirations, Annamalai emphasized the importance of respecting the strength, dignity, and aspirations of India's diverse regions and communities.
