The BJP has heavily criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on the Uttam Nagar incident in Delhi, where a Hindu man was killed during Holi celebrations.
Guru Prakash Paswan, the BJP's national spokesperson, accused Gandhi of choosing 'minority appeasement' over social justice, citing the Congress party's history of opting for appeasement in similar situations.
Paswan also criticized Gandhi for his delayed response to the incident, saying he only expressed condolences after several days, and questioned his silence on the murder of a young Dalit man.
The BJP spokesperson further alleged that the Congress party has an 'anti-Dalit DNA' and has consistently sided with appeasement over social justice.
The war of words between the two parties comes as Eid passed peacefully in the tense Uttam Nagar area, with Muslims receiving heightened security arrangements following threats of violence.
