At least three people died and four others went missing after a boat carrying 14 passengers capsized in the Ganga river in Bihar's Samastipur district on Thursday morning.
The passengers were residents of Masoomganj Bind Toli in Patna district who were returning from agricultural work in the Samastipur district when the accident occurred.
According to officials, strong winds caused the boat to overturn near Sultanpur Diara in Samastipur district, resulting in the deaths of two men and one woman.
Rescue operations were being carried out jointly by the district administrations of Patna and Samastipur, with officials from the disaster management department overseeing the efforts.
