A bomb threat email sent to the Passport Office in Coimbatore's Chitra area triggered heightened security measures on Tuesday. Personnel from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted thorough checks of the premises to ensure safety.
Police officials have launched an investigation into the threat and are probing the source and authenticity of the email.
Earlier, a similar threat was received by Axis Bank at the Statesman House Building in Delhi's Connaught Place, prompting a swift police response and a thorough search.
Employees at the building expressed concern over the widespread panic triggered by such threats, stating that it creates a sense of fear and insecurity among people.
