A recent meeting of senior officials from the Brics grouping, hosted by India, failed to produce a consensus document due to disagreements between Iran and the UAE over the West Asia conflict.

The meeting, which took place in New Delhi on April 23-24, focused on the current situation in West Asia, including the conflict triggered by Israel and the US's attacks on Iran.

Iran and the UAE were unable to bridge their differences on the conflict, with both countries calling for condemnation of the attacks on their territory.

Efforts to issue a Brics statement on the Iran-US conflict were hindered by the differences between the two countries.

India's stance on the Palestine issue at the Brics meeting was in line with its previous position, which supports a two-state solution.

The meeting concluded with India issuing a chair's statement, expressing deep concern about the conflict in the Middle East and welcoming the ceasefire in Lebanon.

The members of the grouping also discussed various other issues, including post-conflict reconstruction and rehabilitation in Syria, a political settlement in Yemen, and the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
