BSF Headquarters Blast in Jalandhar Sparks Panic, Investigation Underway

A high-impact explosion occurred outside the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Jalandhar on Tuesday evening, triggering panic in the area.

The blast, which happened around 8pm, damaged a traffic lights pole and scattered debris of a Honda Activa several meters away.

Jalandhar commissionerate police have cordoned off the area and are conducting an extensive investigation, with forensic experts, dog and bomb squads on the scene.

Locals reported hearing a loud thud and seeing the two-wheeler catch fire immediately after the explosion.

Jalandhar Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur Randhawa said that prima facie, there is no evidence of foul play or explosives, and the investigation is focusing on the possibility of a mechanical fault.

The owner of the two-wheeler, Gurpreet Singh, has been questioned, and police are verifying the details of the case.

The incident has put security agencies on high alert, as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to visit Jalandhar on Wednesday.
