Byju Raveendran, the founder of edtech giant Byju’s, expressed disappointment after a Singapore court sentenced him to six months in jail. He claimed the matter has been reported in a way that creates a misleading impression about him.

In a statement, Raveendran stated that the lenders and other stakeholders have been in settlement discussions with the founders and other parties. A settlement has been agreed in principle, with only a few residual minor issues left to be finalised.

Raveendran emphasized that he has no role in the remaining issues and that the parties have acknowledged there has been no wrongdoing on his part or on the part of the other founders.
