CBSE Gets New Chairman Amid OSM System Row

Prashant Lokhande was appointed as the new chairman of the CBSE on Tuesday, replacing Rahul Singh amid a row over the On-Screen Marking System.

Lokhande, an IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre from the 2001 batch, moves to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from his posting as additional secretary in the ministry of home affairs.

He replaces Rahul Singh, an officer of the Bihar cadre from the 1996 batch of the IAS, who has been appointed additional secretary in the ministry of agriculture.
