Raipur, The Centre has commended Chhattisgarh's initiatives to boost irrigation efficiency under the Modernisation of Command Area Development and Water Management scheme.
The Union government has advised other states and Union Territories to emulate Chhattisgarh's model, which has received national recognition for enhancing irrigation efficiency, improving water-use capacity, and maximising benefits for farmers.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the Centre's praise represents national recognition of the state's commitment to farmers' welfare, water conservation, and good governance.
A letter issued by the Ministry of Jal Shakti to water resources departments of all states and UTs highlighted Chhattisgarh's implementation of M-CAD works through its own resources.
