Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized the direct relationship between law and order and Karnataka's economic growth, urging the police to curb rising crime, particularly cyber offences.

Speaking at the 'Police Flag Day' event, Siddaramaiah directed the police to focus on accountability and enforcement, highlighting the need for vigilance and responsibility at the police station level.

He noted that Karnataka's incidence of certain crimes, including cybercrime, remains higher than the national average and called for strict measures to control them.

Siddaramaiah warned of action against police personnel who fail to prevent crimes and instructed the home minister to hold jurisdictional inspectors accountable.

He acknowledged the state police's performance in handling criminal cases and improving conviction rates, but urged them to make better use of technology to tackle evolving threats.

The chief minister reiterated the government's focus on protecting vulnerable groups and stressed the goal of making Karnataka a drug-free state.
