The Congress has announced its six candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, including Abhishek Singhvi and Phulo Devi Netam, who have been renominated.
Among the new candidates is Anurag Sharma, the Kangra district unit president of the Congress, who has been fielded for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh.
The party has also nominated Christopher Tilak, a Christian leader and AICC secretary, from Tamil Nadu, and Karamvir Singh Boudh, a Schedule Caste leader, from Haryana.
Former Union minister Anand Sharma has been ignored for another term, and he has expressed his disappointment, stating that speaking the truth is now considered a crime in politics.
The Congress has also nominated Vem Narender Reddy from Telangana, in addition to Singhvi.
