A remark made by Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of Anthropic, on the India AI Summit has gone viral and triggered a political row.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Amodei said the summit was "extremely disorganised".

The Congress has pointed to the remark, with party leader Abhishek Singhvi claiming the summit was for "Artificial Image Management".

However, the BJP has slammed the Congress for circulating an "edited clip" that omitted Amodei's clarification that he was not singling out India in his criticism.

Amodei had previously worked as vice president of research at OpenAI, but left the company to found Anthropic.

He said the summit was disorganised, with attendees being asked to hold hands for a photo, and that this was a common occurrence at international AI summits.
