Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi has helped Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) with legal woes, saving the ruling coalition's wafer-thin majority in Tamil Nadu.
Singhvi appeared in the Madras high court on behalf of TVK MLA S Sethupathi, who won by a single vote against former DMK minister KR Periyakaruppan.
According to Congress leaders, Singhvi held daily meetings with TVK leadership over the past week, drafting letters to the governor and providing legal advice.
TVK president C Jopesh Vijay took oath as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, but Tamil Nadu governor Rajendra Arlekar refused to invite him to form the government, citing a lack of numbers.
Singhvi shared pictures of his meetings with Vijay on X, expressing support for the young CM and his team.
He also posted about his guidance to Vijay, who he described as 'young, dynamic, and remarkably soft-spoken.'
Two Congress functionaries agreed that Singhvi had opened a channel of communication with Vijay's party, citing his appearance for TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna after a social media controversy.
