Senior Congress leaders Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narendra Reddy are likely to secure unopposed Rajya Sabha seats from Telangana.
The opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi stayed away from the contest, and an independent candidate's nomination is expected to be rejected due to lack of signatures.
Singhvi and Reddy submitted their nomination papers in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other party leaders.
With no other valid nominations expected, both Singhvi and Reddy are set to be elected unanimously.
The two Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant as the terms of Singhvi and BRS leader K R Suresh Reddy are scheduled to end on April 9.
Singhvi, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court, has been representing Telangana in the Upper House since August 2024.
Speaking to reporters, Singhvi thanked the party leadership for reposing confidence in him and expressed his commitment to working for the interests of Telangana.
Reddy also expressed gratitude to the Congress leadership and vowed to effectively represent Telangana in Parliament.
