A special court in Karnataka has convicted Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and 18 others in the 2016 murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda.
The case, which spanned nearly a decade, involved a conspiracy to kill Gowda at a gym in Dharwad on June 15, 2016.
Kulkarni, who was a minister in the state government at the time, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in 2020 and remained in judicial custody for nine months.
He was granted bail in 2021 but had his bail cancelled after the CBI alleged he was trying to influence witnesses.
The court will pronounce its sentence on Thursday.
