The Congress party's representation of women among candidates for the Kerala Assembly elections remains dismal, with only 9 out of 92 nominees being women, less than 10%.

This is similar to the 2021 Assembly elections, where the party fielded 10 women, all of whom lost.

The women's representation in the UDF coalition is also below par, with only 12 out of 140 candidates being women, just 8%.

Other parties in the UDF, such as the IUML and RMP, have also fielded very few women candidates.

However, the CPI(M) and CPI have marginally higher numbers of women candidates, with 12 and 5 women respectively.

The BJP-led NDA has also fielded 13 women candidates, around 15%.
