The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has released a list of 239 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections. The list includes a mix of old and new faces, with some prominent names like Sabina Yasmeen, the mother of a 9-year-old girl who died in a bomb blast last year during the Kaliganj Assembly bypoll.
The party will contest in all 294 seats in the state and the elections will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with the vote counting process scheduled for May 4.
The list has been released in three phases, with the first list of 192 candidates, followed by a second list of 32 candidates, and the third list of 15 candidates. The party has also announced that the list is not yet complete and everything will become clear in due course.
The list includes candidates from various parties, including the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), CPI, and the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB). The party has also announced that it will contest in all 294 seats in the state.
The Left Front is expected to announce the remaining candidates soon in the coming days.
