Crane Collapse in Faridabad Claims Three Lives, One Critically Injured

At least three workers died and one was critically injured after a gantry crane collapsed on a makeshift shelter in Faridabad, police said.

The incident occurred near Panhera Khurd while the crane was being used to lift concrete blocks for a flyover construction project undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Rescue workers were rushed to the spot after police received information at 3 pm, but the survival chances of those trapped are reported to be very low.

The crane operation was restarted after a rain, but it lost balance and collapsed, killing three workers and injuring one.

Rescue workers were able to pull out three bodies from the accident site till 10 pm, but the exact number of workers trapped inside is still unclear.
