Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has called for the city to be rebranded as a top tourist destination, rather than just a transit point. Speaking at a tourism stakeholders conference, Gupta highlighted the city's unique features, including its historical monuments and cultural diversity.

The Delhi government has taken several steps to improve the tourism ecosystem, including the Delhi Film Festival and the development of a Delhi Tourism Board. Gupta praised the city's food, saying it is unlike anywhere else in the world.

The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) has signed agreements with online travel websites to boost collaboration and innovation in the tourism sector. The government plans to introduce a single-window clearance for film shooting in Delhi.
