Delhi's air quality took a drastic turn for the worse on Friday, plummeting to the 'very poor' zone as wind speeds dropped significantly. The minimum temperature also experienced a marginal increase to 7.7°C, up from Thursday's low of 6.5°C. According to the Early Warning System for Delhi (EWS), the air quality index (AQI) reached 305 at 8am on Friday, a marked improvement from the 412 recorded on Tuesday but still in the 'very poor' range. The EWS forecasted a possible improvement in AQI during the day under sunny conditions but warned of a deterioration to 'very poor' again later in the day. For the next few days, Delhi's air quality is expected to remain in the 'poor' category until Saturday and 'very poor' on Sunday and Monday. Looking ahead to the next six days, the EWS predicts that the air quality will likely remain in the 'very poor' category, with dense fog expected to set in soon after the wind speeds dip further.
