Kapil, 28, and his friend Nalin Ray, 23, were among the victims of a devastating building collapse in Delhi's Saidulajab area. The two friends, who were former students of Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology, had gathered at a canteen to celebrate Kapil's successful interview at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.

The canteen, which was frequented by students preparing for competitive examinations, was crushed by the debris of the collapsed building. Kapil died during treatment at the hospital, while Nalin was declared brought dead at the AIIMS trauma centre.

At least six people have been killed in the building collapse, and several others are injured. The incident took place at around 7:30 pm on Saturday, and rescue operations were undertaken through the night by the National Disaster Relief Force, Delhi Fire Services, and local volunteers.

Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the cause of the collapse, which reduced a commercial structure to rubble. Witnesses recalled hearing cracking sounds moments before the structure gave way, and several locals alleged that their inputs regarding possible locations of trapped victims were initially ignored by rescue teams.
