The festival of Holi took a grim turn in Delhi's Uttam Nagar area after a man was killed in a clash between two families from different communities.
The clashes sparked on the night of Holi on Wednesday, March 4, when an 11-year-old girl from a Hindu family was throwing water balloons from her terrace, hitting a Muslim woman, which led to an altercation.
At least four people were injured, including three from the Hindu family, with 26-year-old Tarun Kumar dying on Thursday morning, triggering further clashes.
Protests erupted, with vehicles set ablaze and streets choked by demonstrators demanding justice for the deceased.
The police have arrested eight people, filed a murder case, and deployed security forces in the area amid heightened tensions.
