A 23-year-old former household employee has been arrested for allegedly raping and murdering a 22-year-old woman in south Delhi's Kailash Hills.

The victim, an IIT graduate and UPSC aspirant, was dragged down from the fourth floor to the third floor by the suspect, Rahul Meena, in an attempt to unlock a fingerprint-access locker.

Meena, who was employed in the household, gained entry after exploiting a narrow window when her parents stepped out to go to the gym.

He then allegedly raped and strangled the victim with a mobile phone charger cable before breaking open the biometric locker.

The postmortem examination has confirmed that the victim died due to strangulation following a violent assault.

Meena was wanted for sexually assaulting another woman in Rajasthan's Alwar and was arrested from a hotel in Dwarka at 8pm on Wednesday.
