The Delhi High Court has directed social media platforms, including X Corp and Google, to remove videos of Arvind Kejriwal's recusal hearing in the excise policy case.
The court observed that the intermediaries have a responsibility to ensure that users do not host or share content that violates the law.
Noting that the IT Rules 2021 prohibit the recording and publication of court proceedings, the court directed Google and X Corp to remove the videos or links to them.
The court also issued notice to Kejriwal and others, asking them to respond to the petition.
The matter will be next heard on July 6.
