Delhi MCD Suspends Engineers Amid Ongoing Probe into Saket Building Collapse

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has suspended two engineers following the collapse of a four-storey commercial building near Saket metro station in South Delhi's Saidulajab.

Aman Jain, a junior engineer, and Audesh Singh Chouhan, an assistant engineer for Building Department-II-South Zone, have been placed under suspension for non-exercising of effective supervision and slackness in the matter of the collapse.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, resulted in the deaths of at least six people and injured 10. Rescue operations continue in the hope of rescuing more people.

The cause of the collapse remains undetermined, and a multi-agency rescue operation is being carried out by teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Fire Services (DFS), Delhi Police, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Civil Defence and CATS Ambulance Service.
