The Delhi Police have arrested Shabir Ahmad Lone, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, who allegedly led a module of 'highly radicalised operatives' behind pro-Pakistan and pro-terror posters pasted at metro stations in Delhi last month.

Lone was arrested over a month after the posters, glorifying slain terrorist Burhan Wani and carrying anti-India slogans, were found at multiple locations across Delhi.

According to police, Lone planned to use Bangladeshi nationals assuming Indian identities to carry out terror strikes and directed his accomplices to conduct reconnaissance of key installations and arrange weapons through local contacts.

The case was transferred to the Delhi Police Special Cell, and eight people, mostly Bangladeshis, were arrested last month for allegedly entering India illegally, procuring forged Indian identity documents, and conducting reconnaissance of key installations for potential terror strikes.
