New Delhi: Delhi Police are set to question the family of 23-year-old Rahul Meena, accused of raping and murdering a 22-year-old woman in south Delhi's Kailash Hills. Investigators believe Meena's family may hold the key to understanding his motives, including his alleged phone addiction and debt of ₹7 lakh.
Meena's father and uncle in Alwar and Gurugram are expected to be questioned by police, who will also conduct a psychoanalysis test on the accused. The test aims to analyze Meena's behavior patterns and mental health state, following his calm and nonchalant demeanor during interrogation.
Police have already recovered the victim's mobile phone, which Meena stole during the assault, and found his blood-soaked clothes along with the victim's brother's pants, footwear, and bag. Meena was arrested from a Dwarka hotel, where he had booked a room using a fake name and paid in cash.
Meena's hotel manager described him as calm and sweet, with no indication of the horrific crime he had committed. Police will also recreate the crime scene and map Meena's escape route, as part of their ongoing investigation.
