The National Green Tribunal has directed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to collect and analyze water samples from Kitchener Lake in Dhaula Kuan, amid claims of the lake's cleanliness.

A petition filed by the Society for Protection of Culture, Heritage, Environment, Traditions & Promotion of National Awareness alleges the lake remains choked with algae, despite claims by the Delhi Development Authority that bioremediation measures have been successful.

The NGT has allowed the DDA to file an additional affidavit clarifying the issue surrounding photographs submitted as evidence of the lake's revival.

The DPCC has been directed to submit a report on the water quality of the Kitchener Lake before the tribunal, with the next hearing scheduled for September 1.
