Delhi residents are facing a severe water crisis as the Yamuna's water levels have fallen, leading to reduced water supply in several areas.

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has reported a reduction in raw water in the Yamuna, disrupting operations at the Wazirabad and Chandrawal water treatment plants.

Residents in areas such as Patel Nagar, West Patel Nagar, Dwarka, and Paschim Vihar are struggling to access water, with some facing irregular supply for over a week.

The DJB officials have attributed the crisis to a shortage of raw water in the river channel, with the water levels falling below 670 ft.

The government is in talks with Haryana to release additional water from upstream Hathnikund to prevent the water supply crisis.

Delhi's estimated water demand is 1,250 MGD, with the DJB supplying 1,002 MGD, leaving a significant gap during peak summer months.
