Delhi Sees Relief from Heatwave with Light Rain and Thunderstorms

Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region experienced rains and thunderstorms on Saturday, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching heat.

The India Meteorological Department issued an alert for light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in parts of Delhi and the surrounding region, including Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, and Ballabhgarh, in the next two hours.

Earlier in the day, Delhi saw a rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures, with the minimum temperature recorded at 25.9 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung and the maximum temperature reaching 38.6 degrees Celsius.

A fresh western disturbance is expected to influence the region in the coming days, leading to a cyclonic circulation over adjoining areas, and light rain might occur in parts of the city for the next few days.

Parts of Himachal and Uttarakhand also received rains on Saturday, while Dehradun experienced a hailstorm accompanying the rain.
