Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida traffic LIVE: Heavy rain triggered waterlogging at several locations across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Monday. Traffic congestion was reported on key stretches including the Barapulla Phase-III Elevated Road towards Barapulla/Ring Road from Noida Link Road/Mayur Vihar Phase-I and Ring Road between Sarai Kale Khan-Ashram carriageway. As protests against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar continued in the national capital, Jantar Mantar as a designated protest venue was de-notified, stated a Delhi Police circular on Monday.. Following this, security was tightened near the Constitution Club leading to traffic snarls. Later in the day, the Delhi Police issued diversions across the city.On Monday evening, the DMRC said that the 6 metro stations, closed since 06:00 AM on October 12 due to security reasons will continue to remain closed till 05:00 PM.The affected stations are Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Barakhamba Road. The closures pushed more commuters towards road transport, adding to traffic pressure during peak hours. The restrictions come a day after the Supreme Court directed that Metro and railway services in Delhi should operate normally. The court also said peaceful, unarmed protesters cannot be detained except in accordance with the “procedure established by law.”The combination of waterlogged roads, diversions and reduced access to metro stations affected traffic movement at key choke points across Delhi, Gurugram and Noida throughout the day.
