Citing the ongoing fuel crisis due to the US-Iran war in West Asia, the Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) in Delhi has asked 600 students to leave the campus for their homes.
The students affected are from undergraduate batches, master's degree first year, and PhD first year.
According to the official notice, classes for these students will be conducted online from April 6, 2026.
The IARI, one of India's premier national institutions, is financed and administered by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
The decision was taken based on in-house due diligence in consultation with students' representatives.
Second year onwards batches of Masters/MTech and PhD programs will continue to attend offline classes and pursue their research as before.
