The 22-km-long 'Tiger Corridor' in Itarsi-Betul section is set to be developed as a four-lane highway in Bhopal, India.
The Central Government has sanctioned ₹758 crore for the construction of the four-lane highway, which will transform the landscape and destiny of the Itarsi-Betul region.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for the approval.
The four-lane construction will usher in a new wave of development in the region, with regional development progressing at four times its current pace.
The corridor will directly connect Betul to Nagpur, linking the North with the South and making road connectivity between Northern and Southern states smoother, simpler, and more convenient.
Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari announced that the project will include the construction of 11 special underpasses and overpasses to allow animals to cross the road safely, reducing road accidents and animal deaths in the surrounding wildlife areas.
The upgrade will shorten travel time, improve road safety in hilly areas, and boost eco-tourism in Madhav National Park, Ratapani, and Satpura Tiger Reserve.
