Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign policy, calling it a 'universal joke' as Pakistan offered to mediate US-Iran talks.

Gandhi pointed out that PM Modi's references to the Covid pandemic in his speeches on the West Asia crisis were 'irrelevant' and 'compromised' India's foreign policy.

He claimed that PM Modi would do what America and Israel say, and not work in the interest of India and its farmers.

Meanwhile, PM Modi said the difficult global conditions caused by the West Asia conflict may persist for a long time and called upon the nation to remain prepared and united.

He also addressed concerns related to the impact on fuel, fertilisers, national security and other areas in India and its nationals residing in the West Asia region.
