The Goa district and sessions court has denied an application for anticipatory bail filed by Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra in a forgery case linked to the fatal Birch nightclub fire that killed 25 people in December 2025.

The brothers, who had flown to Thailand after the tragedy, were repatriated to India and have been in custody since.

They are being investigated for allegedly submitting forged documents in their application to run the nightclub, which was operating illegally.

The Luthras are also being probed by the Enforcement Directorate, which has identified ₹22 crore in assets that it claims are proceeds of crime.

The brothers will decide on a future course of action once they receive a copy of the order.
