Goa's Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane announced plans to create a dedicated policy to address human-wildlife conflict, citing the seriousness of the issue.
The policy will be modeled after successful initiatives in Kerala and Karnataka, with the government set to study their best practices.
A provision of ₹3.30 crore has been allocated to address the issue, with the forest department conducting hotspot mapping and data compilation to inform targeted mitigation measures.
The policy is expected to be presented before the end of the ongoing assembly session.
