A 29-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, Sarvesh, has been accused of kidnapping two minor sisters, aged six and eight, in Gurugram. On December 13, the accused allegedly lured the girls with a chocolate and promised them a ride. He took them to a secluded spot in Manesar, where he raped the older girl. The younger girl was left sitting in the autorickshaw. Sarvesh, a married man with a daughter, was tracked down by police after local residents raised an alarm. As he attempted to flee Gurugram, a police team spotted him waiting to board a bus on the KMP Expressway. Panicked, Sarvesh jumped off the flyover, fracturing both legs in the process. The accused is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and has confessed to the crime. He will be arrested upon discharge. Sarvesh has been booked under sections of the POCSO Act at the Manesar Police Station.
