Rajya Sabha MP and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, barely a week after accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of 'selling' Rajya Sabha seats.

Harbhajan Singh, who defected to the BJP along with six other AAP MPs, said they had an 'extensive discussion' on Punjab's development, public welfare, and law and order.

He urged the Central Government to protect Punjab's interests and advance its development, as the next Punjab assembly elections are due in nine months.

The BJP is hoping to make a mark in Punjab despite finishing fifth in the recent urban local bodies' polls.

Harbhajan Singh had accused AAP workers of protesting outside his house and calling him a 'traitor', and claimed that he would reveal who received bribes for the Rajya Sabha seats.

AAP has dismissed the allegations, with Senior Leader Saurabh Bharadwaj asking Harbhajan Singh to clarify who received the money.

The opposition Congress has taken potshots at AAP, with Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa demanding answers from Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann.
