The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to use the Indian Air Force (IAF) to expedite the distribution of question papers for the June 21 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate or NEET-UG 2026 re-examination.
The decision aims to halve the delivery time from the usual 8-10 days to 4-5 days, officials said, as the agency faces a compressed timeline to recreate the entire examination cycle within 38 days.
The IAF's involvement is intended to ensure the secure and timely movement of confidential question papers to over 550 cities, including remote and weather-sensitive locations, ahead of the June 21 test.
With the monsoon season affecting road connectivity in some parts of India, the NTA is relying on the IAF to airlift sealed question paper packets to designated locations before dispatching them onward through established security channels.
